The UK Maritime Minister announced that the UK played a leading role in negotiations at the International Maritime Organization to develop the first greenhouse gas strategy for the industry, agreeing on a target to reduce emissions by at least 50 percent by 2050.
At least a 50% reduction by 2050 and a complete phase-out as soon as possible in this century. The Clean Maritime Plan made the UK one of the first countries to publish a national action plan after the strategy was agreed. The plan clearly demonstrates our ambition and commitment to tackle this important issue at a time when it is vital to the future of the maritime sector.
Eco Power has partnered with Plymouth Cruise Lines, the UK's premier cruise line, on the following retrofit project for its passenger ships. The pilot system has been successfully retrofitted in 2021 and is expected to have 25 vessels in 2022.
