An electric excavator is an electrically powered, heavy-duty construction equipment used for hole and trench digging, material handling, mining, construction and other such applications. It consists of an excavator, bucket, boom and a cab located on a rotating platform. Electric excavators are powered by a huge kilowatt-hour battery pack instead of a traditional internal combustion engine and are considered low or zero emission equipment vehicles because no carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides or other particulate matter is released into the atmosphere. The worldwide market for electric excavators has been expanding significantly over the past few years. It is probably going to expand at a noteworthy rate in the immediate future.
